Book jacket for Catcher in the Rye. Design formulated by research about the story’s themes and symbols. I used the carousel as the main imagery because it represents youth, innocence, memories, childhood, infinity, and a pattern that doesn’t change. We were encouraged to use collage and handwritten typography, which I did, including vector illustration. I made the cover look worn and vintage since the story was written in the 50’s.
