Hey guys. My name is Barry. I’m a graphic designer/ illustrator that wants to have a positive effect on the world. I remember the first time I drew something. It was in Daycare. I drew a picture of a huge flower with yellow petals. I remember the look of surprise on my parents’ faces when my teacher showed them it. I was so interested in how something I created with crayons and paper could affect the mood of those around me. My parents called what I created “a blessing”. I believe that all art is. Since then, I have tried adding to that gift through learning from others. Whether it be my father(who was a freelance portrait artist at one point) or my peers, I have learned a lot from others. However, the choice to cultivate my skills have made all the difference. And all that support and dedication has been what has led me down this road. When it comes to a job that utilizes artistic skills, I feel that Graphic Design does that. Art is a big part of graphic design in my opinion. When people look at graphic design, it can determine how they feel about a certain subject. I think that the power in that is amazing. And I would love to use graphic design to improve the mood of the community.
