Hi, my name is Christie! I was raised in a home where art and design were celebrated. I grew up with strong ties to music – following the lead of my 3 older siblings, I picked up a violin at the age of 7 and never put it back down. My love for string instruments grew, and so did my love for all things arts. During this time, I surrounded myself with all types of art and design including studio art, pottery, and computer-aided drafting (CAD). This immersion in creativity and non-traditional education is what led me to pursue a career in interior design. Design allows me to balance the creative with the pragmatic, as it requires both.
I am majoring in interior design with minors in visual communications and business management. With this combination of specialties, I hope to one day own my own design business. I’d love to use the skills that I acquired during my time spent at La Roche to improve the health, well-being, and life quality of people through well-designed spaces.
My favorite hobbies include: searching for the best restaurants in Pittsburgh (or wherever I am traveling), performing on violin at weddings, playing Jackbox with friends and family, and finding new songs to add to my eclectic collection of music.
After graduating, I plan to move to Georgia with my husband who is stationed at an Army base. There we will start a new chapter together and experience all that Georgia has to offer. I’m excited to see where my design skill set, internship experience, and education takes me!
