Courtney J Garrett is a prominent name amongst emerging American artists. She is internationally recognized and has works in both private and corporate collections. Several years ago she was selected by the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to create the foundation’s first historically documented series.
Garrett very much understands the elements of space. Her work challenges the awakening of every sense in a viewer to see, hear and feel the anticipation and emotion of her pieces. She strongly believes that it’s not about looking at a work of art – but looking through it. Ms. Garrett’s work orchestrates moments within space in order to add deeper meaning to the viewer’s experience. Her approach is centered on how viewer’s function with art in spaces, through design, in life.
“As an artist, my paradigm has shifted from creating simply emotional works to extravagant attempts at inspiring hope. My goal is always to present the viewer with a moment of recognizable truth that goes deeper than a casual encounter”
