Sometimes I still think about how I can’t even draw a stick figure, yet I found myself in graphic design. Luckily, creativity and artistic abilities don’t have to be one and the same. I’ve always thought of myself as a clever, imaginative person, yet I was also successful in absorbing and recalling information. The major I chose began in a fun Photoshop class in high school that ended up being the perfect blend of both creative and analytical thinking. LRU’s curriculum allowed me to open and shut many doors revolving around my future as a designer. Now a senior who has experienced all forms of design, I can confidently say that I want to make use of both my analytical thinking and graphic design abilities by becoming a UX or product designer.
The future is uncertain, and what better example than the Covid-19 pandemic? As much as the virus has afflicted us all, it has highlighted my optimism and positive outlook as well as my adaptability.
