The exhibition for this La Roche Study Abroad travel experience, titled “This is Cuba,” is a photo-narrative study of the culture and lives of the people of Havana from the perspective of the students who participated in the course.
Through the travel experience students were able to explore places, meet people, ask questions and get a glimpse into the lives of the people and places around Havana. They had enriching educational encounters, shared experiences and gained new perspectives throughout the journey. We learned about a culture full of warmth, surprises, complexity and contrasts. The exhibition will share the journey of the students through narratives about their experiences with the people, places and culture of Havana.
The exhibition will be open from April 10–18, from 9AM–9PM in the Cantellops Gallery at La Roche College. An opening night celebration will be held on April 11 from 5–7PM.
