The second year design courses continue to expand on the global view of design as students learn to weigh their design decisions within the parameters of ecological, socio-economic and cultural contexts. The students’ knowledge and selection of colors, interior materials and furnishings increases this year, along with their understanding of the laws, codes, standards and guidelines that impact the design of interior spaces.
The second year continues the refinement of oral presentation skills as students communicate their designs to an audience of their peers, faculty and design professionals. The graphic presentation of their projects has also been enhanced by more advanced rendering skills, both manual and computer-generated.
